The Hollywood star and independent filmmaker author of the satirical comedy Hollywood Shuffle respectively Eddie Murphy and Robert Townsend work for this movie which was a major success in the United States.

The film begins with a fictional part in the Murphy family where every child is shows a particular talent: singing, dancing ... The young Eddie, it is distinguished by an animal scat joke before the horrified eyes of the oldest! Then begins Phase classic stand-up.
Eddie Murphy begins his show by the reactions of individuals to its previous shows, Delirious. Then he goes on with women, marriage and divorce and ending with a tasty portion of the movie Rocky and the Italo-Americans.
Seen from this side of the Atlantic, we did not mind that most large African-American comic actors on the stage began 
and the cinema was only a new march to fame (and necessarily for the better): Moms Mabley , Rudy Ray Moore , Richard Pryor ... A phenomenon that can be seen arriving in France for several years at the same time explodes the stand-up to the French. Murphy therefore offers more than an hour of monologue, bouncing around personal themes without much pause. And we realize once again the talents of actors of it, one feels dawn in 48 Hours, Trading Places and Beverly Hills Cop , and to whom he gives free rein on stage.
imitations, in turn, Michael Jackson, Mr. T and Richard Pryor are successful and especially that of Bill Cosby that performs with an incredible talent. Small negative note, however: it passes over the liberated women and divorce is at least limit and macho ... In any case, this contrasts with the characters he portrays asexual in films until he is playing and we see that, free from the constraints of studio, Murphy plays a different character.
Keenen Ivory Wayans co-produced the film and co-wrote the introductory skit which recognizes multiple actors: Samuel L. Jackson, Billie Allen (actress / dancer that can be crossed in
Black Like Me or The Wiz), the young Tatyana Ali (later Ashley Banks in Prince of Bel-Air ) which first appeared on the screens, the ancestor Leonard Jackson (second knife in Ganja & Hess , The Baron, Car Wash and Boomerang and headlining Five on the Black Hand Side , Super Spook and A Rage in Harlem ), Clebert Ford, Birdie M. Hale, Kim and Damien Dante Wayans ... All "families" of African American cinema are gathered here, and that technical side we find the op chief and art director Spike Lee: Ernest Dickerson and Thomas Wynn. Uncle Ray Murphy on he is credited as being responsible for security.
